Restylane®

Restylane® is an excellent option for wrinkle reduction. As one of the most effective and scientifically advanced dermal fillers available, Restylane® works by filling in areas that have become creased and sunken.

The ingredient responsible for Restylane’s® effectiveness is hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in the human body and gives facial skin its firmness and volume. In the past, dermal fillers like collagen were derived from animal sources, meaning that patients had to undergo an allergy test before using dermal fillers. Since no animal proteins are used in the manufacture of Restylane®, patients who undergo treatment don’t have to worry about allergic reactions.

Like other facial rejuvenation methods, Restylane® is injected into areas of the face that show wrinkles, such as the cheek folds and lips. Because of Restylane’s® unique chemical structure, the molecules tend to bond with water as they break down, allowing the “plumping” effect to last for about six months, far longer than some other dermal fillers.
