Perlane™

Wrinkles and lines between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds), as well as deep wrinkles and signs of aging in other facial features can be improved with Perlane™. This cosmetic injectable filler can also reduce the appearance of facial scarring and add volume to the lips. Perlane™ at our Kansas City, Overland Park, and Johnson County, Kansas practice can do wonders for your overall facial aesthetic.

Perlane™ is made of a substance that occurs naturally in the human body, and therefore does not require a waiting period or allergy testing. Injected with a fine needle into the areas targeted for treatment, Perlane™ works by filling in depressions in the face or augmenting facial features for an improved contour, giving you smoother looking skin and a more youthful appearance.

Perlane™ injections typically take 30 minutes or less to complete, and patients can usually resume normal daily routines immediately after the procedure. Results from Perlane™ can last six months or more, and can be maintained with follow-up treatment.

A mild degree of bruising, redness, and/or swelling can be present after Perlane™ treatment; but this should fade within a few days. Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, are under the age of 18, or have recently used blood-thinning or anti-blood clotting drugs should not be treated with Perlane™. Patients who have had cold sores should be advised that they may experience a recurrence following Perlane™ injections. For those who are not candidates for this procedure, our facial plastic surgeons can recommend a number of effective alternatives that can yield similar results.
