Laser Vein Treatment

As we age, the appearance of bluish-purple veins in a spiderweb-like pattern can occur in a variety of body areas including the cheeks, nose, and legs. With the latest technology, Dr. J. David Kriet and Dr. Clinton D. Humphrey can reduce or eliminate spider veins for smoother, healthier skin.

Laser vein treatment is an excellent procedure for patients wishing to eliminate the appearance of spider and reticular veins. In a process much like laser skin resurfacing, veins smaller than three millimeters are targeted by a precise laser light that passes through the skin in controlled bursts, causing the vein to shrink and disappear. Sometimes multiple treatment sessions over a period of weeks are necessary to eliminate the vein completely. Laser leg vein treatment typically takes 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. Most patients are able to resume daily activities within 12 to 24 hours. Any bruising or swelling in the treatment area generally dissipates within a few days.

Many patients prefer laser vein treatment because laser therapy involves no needles or injections. For more information on laser vein treatment at our Kansas City and Overland Park-area facility, please contact our facial plastic surgeons.
