Photo Rejuvenation

A range of skin conditions, including rosacea, sun damage, discoloration, and others can be treated with photorejuvenation. Often referred to as BBL (broad band light) or IPL (intense pulsed light), photorejuvenation uses broad spectrum light of various wavelengths. Advantages of of BBL or IPL include minimal associated risk and downtime. For skin laxity, the broadband light may also stimulate new collagen production improving skin tone and minimizing fine lines. Since new collagen is produced, improvement occurs over time.

Some of the most successful and dramatic changes occur in patients with uneven pigmentation, freckles, brown spots, and sun damage. Treatment of these conditions typically requires 1 to 3 treatments, and causes the discolored areas to flake off over a period of 5 to 7 days. Treatment of rosacea and vascular facial lesions usually require multiple treatments, and in the case of rosacea, ongoing maintenance.
